Community Service Warning

There are constant attempts to get your account information (and other privacy and money information). The latest is going to get a lot of suckers, and hopefully I can help you miss it.

It appears to be an offer for you to be a beta tester for Wrath of the Lich King. (To see it, see the offer BRK got. )

Issuntril, an official voice of Blizzard posting on the European Forums, had this to say:

Hi Snake,

This Email is a fake. There is currently no open or closed Beta for the expansion, and the links contained in the mail are probably bogus links to sites containing keyloggers.

Thank you for letting me know of this.

If it looks too good to be true, check it out very carefully. (Hey, miracles happen…)

  1. As always, the cynical approach is the tried and true:

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

The flip side of your phrase. 8-P

  3. @ Dax, yep. I was trying to twist the cliche a bit for higher accuracy, but…

@ BRK I’d say “waaah”, but, well, there are a lot of things I want too. Since I’d rather have sympathy than nothing (still want the other stuff, mind you, but whatchagonnado), you have my sympathy. Who knows, maybe you’ll finally get that drop as karmic compensation…
