I’m not going to tell you “the best”. Although I’ll take the opportunity to mention I’m extremely annoyed at those who talk of ‘the best’ and only consider level 70. It tends to reinforce the subject of this post:

You are doing yourself a massive disservice if you delay enchantments till you get “that next piece”.

The fact is that as long as you’re not getting the top enchants, they’re not going to cost a lot of money. And little increases add up.

An example is Lesser Intellect. It goes on a 2H weapon. It adds +3 to int. It is cheap even if you have to pay for the mats – three greater magic essences will usually cost less than you make running through Deadmines or Wailing Caverns even after repairs. And +3 int is 30 more mana which is very useful at these levels.

That brings me to the second point. Take the enchantment that fits. The thing that puts most people off getting enchants is that they only look at the best. Using our example, that’s Major Intellect for weapons less than level 35, and major intellect after that. And for a level 10 or 20 or 30 player, that’s a LOT of gold for those mats. Especially for a weapon you’re going to replace in 5 to ten levels. But that +3 Int beats nothing.

Notice I’m not really telling you WHAT enchants to get. Just… if you’re not putting on everything you can, especially when enchanters are practically giving away anything under level 200, you’re hindering yourself.
