GLOSSARY – Some terms I use with which you may or may not be familiar.
5SR – see Five Second Rule.
Becoming George – stealing aggro from the tank. see also George.
Damage over Time – (aka DoT) Damage that is shown on the tooltip as DDD damage over SSS seconds. Usually applied in ticks but is not always equal on each tick. See also Heal over Time.
DoT – see Damage over Time .
Frisbee – see Prayer of Mending.
Heal over Time – (aka HoT) Healing that is shown on the tooltip as HHH health over SSS seconds. Usually applied in ticks but is not always equal on each tick. See also Damage over Time.
HoT – see Heal over Time.
I5SR – also IFSR. see Inside Five Second Rule.
Inside Five Second Rule – (aka IFSR, I5SR) Within five seconds of last cast. Mana regeneration is restricted.
Five Second Rule – (aka 5SR.). the rule that mana regeneration from spirit begins 5 seconds after a spell is cast. See also Inside Five Second rule and Out of Five Second Rule.
Five Second Waltz – the technique of choosing spell levels and timing so that as much time is spent outside the 5SR as possible. aka 5 second waltz.
FSR – see Five Second Rule.
O5SR – also OFSR. See Outside Five Second Rule.
Outside Five Second Rule – (aka OFSR, O5SR) More than five seconds since last spell was cast, and mana regeneration is at full strength
PoM – see Prayer of Mending.
Prayer of Mending – (aka Frisbee, PoM) A spell that delivers health immediately after target is hit, and then jumps to another player to repeat the process, with a maximum play of five jumps.
Tick – a time interval at which an event that is scheduled to occur on a regular basis will happen. Of varying lengths, usually 2 to 3 seconds, but faster and slower are known to exist. NOTE: when an event is to happen ‘on the tick’ any interruption prior to the tick will prevent that event, be it healing, damage, or other activity.
